Just wanted to say good luck and the journey u and your husband are about to take is a wonderful one. We have been foster parents for 6 yrs and we have adopted a set of siblings 2 girls. we got then when they were 3/6 and now they are 9/6. last Aug 28 a beautiful biracial baby boy was brought to us at 9 days old and now we are in the process of adopting us. Email me and i will tell u our journey with our little man and i will send u a pic of him. As one mom to another and believe me i've been around We need to chat so i can tell u alot of things that u need to know before u sign papers. i learned the hard way.Hope to hear from u soon. October 2006: Thought about Invetro January 2007: Started the testing and preparation for Invetro. March 2007: Decided Invetro just wasn’t something we wanted to do September 2007: We discussed the option of Adoption. (Kristi has always wanted to adopt) October 2007: International Adoption was chosen. January 2008: Did research and decided on Private adoption from our country February 2008: Did More research and felt Foster Care adoption was more of the right choice for us. March 2008: Took 9 Week PRIDE classes April 2008: Received the Letter Assigning us our Social Worker May 2008: Took 6 Week Bridge Builder classes June 2008: Had our personal/Individual interviews July 2008: Got the room ready for kids August 2008: More info requested/provided September 2008: West to Foster Care Workshop October 2008: Got assigned our Foster Care worker Provided more info November 2008: Took voluntary adoption/parenting classes December 2008: Met with Licensing worker for final interview. Waiting on approval to have home inspection. January 2009: Denial / Appeal request filed. May 2009: Decided to try Artificial Insemination w/Donor
